I am trying to order a custom WFO np208 shift knob for the transfer case and I know its 7/16 but they wanted to know what is the pitch of the thread, I thought it was coarse but I just wanted to make sure before I go ahead and have them make it that way.

Thanks
Dan

count how many threads are in 1" of length and you'll be good to go.

No idea either..

I'm still running that 7 ball you gave me Colby.. it threaded right on my 241 shifter :D

I am out of the country right now for school and don't have access to the truck to check, if anyone can check and let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

Call WFO or any companies that make shifters for that specific setup . They should be willing to tell you.

I am not sure the thread size, but I do know that GM used a odd thread size for the 1981 model year NP208 levers...........the 82-up knobs will not fit the 81 model year levers..............infact the 81 style knob is a 73-80 carry over, except there is NO range pattern on the knob.

I called Wfo and they never made one for a np208 and need to know the thread pattern so they can make one. I have a 1983.

I made one for my 208 at work a while back... I don't remember exactly what threads it was but I remember I just tapped it so it must be something standard.
Probably coarse but I'll check this afternoon for ya'.

I made it to clear my CB since it used to be mounted here... I've since moved it into the dash but kept the handle.

I drilled out a B+M black t-handle , and let the shifter cut threads into what aluminum was left in the insert ......... a lot of cussing and hand pressure while turning LOL
