I have a 32spline 465, with a 208. Broke the 208 (spit needle bearings out?)

Would it be wiser to fix my 208 keep the slip yoke, convert the 208 with dodge parts, or find a 205 and be done.

I already have an extended front shaft so I would need the 205 with the 32 spline out-put flange.

IIRC you would need the round pattern 205 with the long 32 spline input and the adapter to match. Don't know how easy this is to find but IIRC that 205 will have a rear slip yoke and not a fixed yoke but that can be easily swapped to a fixed yoke.

Correct and not that easy to find. Check ebay.

Correct again.

Check on the adapter. I have one from a th400 and was told they are the same from the th400 and sm465 with the round pattern 205.

The TH400 has a round 6 bolt pattern and i know it's not the same as a 465.

How about going with the 241?

If you don't need the strength of the iron case, the 241 seems to be the wise choice...better oiling, lighter weight, better crawl ratio, common SYE.

Round pattern 205's aren't exactly rare as hens teeth, but they aren't around every corner for $100 either. And the adapters are even worse.

the round pattern 205's have a long type 32 spline input. I think you still need to use your 208 adapter and swap in a short 32 spline input into the 205. When I looked into doing this thats what I was told.

Correct, I found this pic.

Except that I already have that adapter....it was a 465/208.

I also have a 241...with a 27spline input, are the input yokes interchangealbe between 241/208? I figured because of different gear ratio, It would be a different cut.

No, the inputs do not interchange. Getting a 241 32 spline input is not to hard.

Does your adapter have the threaded hole for the 205 shifter? It would also need to have the notch as seen in the picture on the round side to clear the 205 shift rail. They only used one input on the round pattern 205 which was the long female input. If the adapter is the same length between the 208 and 205 you should be able to grind a notch in the 208 adapter and run a cable shifter for the 205.
