Swapped in a NP241 for a broken 208. The linkage SHOULD be the same, right? I thought my old linkage would work from my 208. Can't seem to get it to work with the 241. Anybody got a pic of a 241 linkage? It seems like the arm is not "angled" right.

Eric

nope not the same.

The 241s shifter arm is different. Its clocked 90* differently then the 208. Best bet is to jut cut it near the end where it bolts to the case, turn it 90* and weld it back together. Or if you have the 241 shifter arm, just replace the 208 one with the 241 piece.

Thanks sled dog, I thought I was going crazy :doah: . I do not have the 241 shifter arm. Does anyone out there have a pic of a 241 arm? Better yet would be a pic of a modified 208 arm.

Eric

I can try to get you a pic of a np241 arm tonight or this weekend. I have 2 np241 shifters also. :D

I just did the same thing and the 208 shifter bolted right up to the 241. I got the 241 shifter with the T/C and it is the same as my 208.

the metal plate that bolts to the transfer case itself? I swapped a 241 for a 208 and the shifters were different. Ryan(Tork) swapped a 208 for a 241 and also found the shifters to be different, he is the one who thought of just cutting, clocking, and rewelding the 208 shifter.

I am doing the swap right now. I am replacing the NP208 on my 86 K5 with a 241 from a 89 K-5 and the linkages are exactly the same.... :dunno:
