NP208: Who's broken one?

I run a 208 and haven't ever had any problems. In fact I know it's low range is the only reason I can crawl half way decent with my current gears. I bash it in the rocks and sling it up as fast as my ol' small block can go in the sand and it doesn't complain. It stays in gear and shifts smoothly so I don't have a single complaint.
I keep it full of fluid and make sure none of the adapter nuts come loose and it's good to go.

I guess I'm the lucky one who's 208 never pops out of gear or gives any sort of trouble... Sounds like as long as I keep it well lubed and don't smash it on a rock it should keep working.

I don't think it's a bad case at all, I nuked one by wedging a fallen tree between the frame and the case and trying to throttle out

I wouldn't put any money into one but I also wouldn't junk it, when I converted from auto to manual I switched to a 205, It's hard to beat cast iron and bullet proof. :thumb:

Damn I miss Idaho...

I've had both. A 465/208 and a 465/205. Now I have a 700r4/241. If it were my decision, and this is mostly from having done a clutch in the truck with the 205... I'd go 208. It's lower geared, and combined with that 6.55:1 first gear, it's nearly unstoppable
