It shouldn't otherwise the front output shaft would spin in 2 hi also.

are you sure. is the chain always spinning but is engaged to the other gears for 4hi?

I agree w/ Harley.
I think it does not spin. The disconnect for the mainshaft sprocket is on the mainshaft...... pretty sure.
