NP208C vs NP208C1 Differences

Anyone know the differences between a NP208C and a NP208C1 ?

I'm attaching the tag from both.

I know the C in NP208C means chevy but don't know what difference a NP208C1 has in the case or internals if anything and if you can swap parts between the two or not.

I have to replace the NP208C1 due to a fubar'd case and a buddy has a NP208C he'll give me for 20 bucks that's supposed to be good. I'll be tearing it apart to make sure and inspect and reseal at minimum.

Hoping I can make one good 208C between the two of them

Thanks in advance.

Do you know what event cracked your current case? Hate to see you have a repeat

No idea, when I bought the truck the transfer case had an obvious leak, when I brake cleaned it off I saw the jbweld on both case halves on the bottom where it's covered by the skid plate from impacts.

Make sure the front drive shaft isn’t out of travel before the suspension is, and make sure it is covered. Those are two of the big reasons that cases get broke

Looks like for what's applicable to me, I just need to use the short foot adapter and crossmember and 32 spline input shaft from my current setup using the NP208 C1 and put it in/on the NP208C and I'll be golden.

If anyone has any further info or conflicting info please advise.

Be careful how you take the output shaft out or you will have two rows of roller bears in the bottom of your case. There are two rows of needle bearing under the chain gear on output shaft, that are not retained and fall out. leave the snap ring on above the the chain gear and remove the shaft in one piece.
