I have a 241 mated to a 4L80e in my 91 Sub. I'm looking at another 241(32 spline) out of a 92 or 93 Sub that was mated to a 700r4.
Are there two sizes of 32 spline inputs on a 241 tcase like the 205 (short 32 or a long 32)? Or will it bolt directly in w/ no problems?

Any help in figuring this out will be greatly appreciated, especially before I drop the cash on it.....:doah:

First off are you sure it's a 4L80E and not a 4L60E? If the suburban has a BBC it would definately not be a 700R4 as GM never installed a 700R4 behind a BBC from the factory. Also a 700R4 has a 27 spline output and not a 32 spline output. The only 32 spline outputs were the late model SM465, TH400 and the 4L80E. Also for the suburban starting in 1992 it would be a driver side drop instead of a passenger side drop T-case.

yep, its an 80e. 91 V2500 w/silverado pkg.
I've seen pictures of the donor tcase and its a psd. I asked the guy to check the input spline count-he says 32.
just wondered if there'd be any mating problems with different trans.
OR
would it be better to rebuild the existing one (new chain, front output shaft and related parts)??
thanx all...

Well, i'm not 100% certain but i think that the late model SM465, TH400 and the 4L80E all have a different length output shaft on the tranny even though they are all 32 spline outputs, so either the adapter is different or the T-case or perhaps both.

The difference is in the adapter.

For instance: pre 32-spline 465/205 adapter 7" thick, 32 spline=10".

Have a 1991 (4L80E donor) 205 bolted up to my 32 spline 465 right now, same input.

all 241 32 spline input gears are the same. The problem is if it came out of a 92-93 sub and had a 700R4 the input will be 27 spline and the case will be driver side drop(IFS suburban).
