NP241 Questions?

Have a 1990 Sub with NP241 with the VSS. The 241 is shot-last snap ring gave out and totaled the inside. Having a hard time finding a 241 locally with the Vss but can get a 241 with mechanical speedo.
Question can you swap parts between the two to make the mechanical to electric? Any help would be great. Thanks

Don't know where you are located, but there is an electric 241 in the classifieds for sale. It's a driver drop, but if your case is good, all the internals should swap over.

Thanks for the reply. That would work except I have the 1/2 ton version so I don't think the input splines are the same.

the input spline part will swap out. its the output stuff you need.

Upon further tear down of my 241 I find a cracked rear case, chewed up output shaft, bad chain, plus screwed shift forks. So thanks for the replies but hopefully I can figure out my original question. I imagine the housing that holds the vss is the same pattern as a mechanical one but would the reluctor ring or whatever it is called work on a mechanical speedo's output shaft? Thanks
