So, I bought a rebuilt NP241 to go with the 700r4 that I'm going to install in the K5 and have a couple of questions:

How do I connect the speedo cable/adapter from my 205 to the 241. The 241 is a mechanical type speedo. The case has roughly a 1.5" hole in the speedo housing, where I assume an adapter of some sort connects. I can see the speedo gear. What parts do I need to get and does anyone have pics?

Bolt sizes. I need to get bolts to connect the 700r4/241 together with the adapter. There are 4 for the tranny and 6 for the tcase. What sizes, lengths, and pitches do I need?

Thanks!

think they are 3/8" course bolts. Was the 241 electronic or mechanical speedo?

Uh, the first post said the 241's a mechanical speedo.

The 4 that go into the trans are 10x1.50x35-40mm. Make sure you use red loctite.
EDIT: The six for the t-case are 10x1.50x40ishmm as well.

Don't forget the O-ring between the adapter and trans and the gasket (GM 24242395) between adapter and t-case. Silicone will result in leaks!

The 241 t-case uses a large speedo gear and holder and is the same between pretty much all GM trannys and t-cases. Run down to the salvage yard and grab one out of a truck, burb or blaze. Here's a site for referance. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speedometer_calibration_______va.htm
