If the cab I get is pre 86, ie carbed, and I decided to just toss a 350 or 305 in there for now, instead of swapping the wiring harness, how will my speedo work, being that I have a 90, and its an electric one? convert it to mechanical? swap cases? TIA I`m hoping to get it done next month, so I want to have everything set.

I would swap the wiring harness and keep the TBI and electronic speedo.

You can convert your 241 to mechanical speedo by replacing the speedo housing part (I don't know what it's called),on the t-case but I don't think it's worth it...keep the electronic speedo.

I'd agree with swapping the wiring harness.

If you plan to go TBI later, it only makes sense, and the electric speedometer is so much better than cable it's not worth thinking about finding the mech cable 241 parts IMO.

Everything unplugs, leave the TBI stuff disconnected/tied up until you are ready to use it again. Anyone that has a decent running injection setup will tell you that you won't be able to wait to get back to injection from a carb. :)
