I'm looking for some advice or guidance on how hard and is it possible to convert a 241c from mech. speedo to a VSS. IO have a 1990 Blazer and found a good deal on rebuilt one that a dealer had on hand when they closed the business. Has anybody out there converted one? How much work is involved and is there a kit I can purchase? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yep super easy I just did it. You just need factory vss parts or a after market kit. I was able to find a factory vss from a member on here.

Thanks I just got off the phone with Water's Engineering. They were very helpful. They even suggested Just transferring my VSS from my old case.

Just PLEASE be extremely careful putting it back together. Way too many people crack them. Seriously. Find videos and make sure you understand how to avoid damage, because it's a dumb mistake, even moreso given how relatively rare those VSS parts are anymore.

It's not a hard case to work on, at all. But it also isn't hard to destroy the extension housing if you don't pay attention.

I see you are in VA. Would love to have a mech 241, if you decide not to go forward with the swap. Shoot me a pm if you decide against it.

Sorry I'm late responding to this. The guy sold the transfer case the day I was calling to set up a time to meet him.
