Saw the rig you bought. Forget if it had a headliner at all.

If its got one, dont' toss it. Remove it, scrape the old material off the cardboard, and recover it before reinstallation.

Headliner fabric is the best, but you need a wider than standard (58vs. 52"? IIRC) material. If you are looking to save a few bucks, you can really cover it with whatever you want.

I wouldn't toss it though.

I'll have the get you a pic tomorrow. This is my second burb with no headliner. Neither one came with one.

sadly I tossed the liner in my 86

it was my dd & I was single at the time, so the noise was a non issue...

However, in the summer, the heat was horrible!! I'm 6'2" so I didn't have a lot of space. Whenever I first got into it it would just scorch my brain pan...:eek1:

the a/c didn't come out the vents properly so that didn't help. I later learned the plenum had a hole in it so the cold air just cooled the floor.

I drove the 90 all last summer without a/c, it was much more bearable with the headliner.

However, the 90 has a tailgate vs the barn doors in the 86. Having the tailgate window down helps immensely :bow:

in fact fixing the a/c has dropped off the priority list for it...

so, in summary: it's bearable with a tailgate, don't even think about it with barn doors...

Here's a pic. My interior lights need to be replaced so right now they are just hanging there.

I cringe at the thought of filling a 40 gallon tank.....

When i sold a 454 burb, the family that bought it asked me "how big is the tank", and "how often do you fill it".

Not what mileage it got. :haha:

40 gal just allows you to buy where it's cheap, and go longer between fillups. In a rig like a burb, i'd much rather have a big tank than a small tank.

I HATE when we tow places wiht my friends Sequoia, and keep having to fill the 20gal tank every 200 miles...

after I desmogged the 86 with a 350 I got 14 mph with cruise control and overdrive...

I love 40 gal tank I can get as much or as little as I need.
