I have the "1442" model of that same tool It works great but I have found it is really easy to apply too much pressure to smaller nutserts stripping them out. Other than that it has been worth every penny.

I have the 1442 model also and I like it. We have a different brand tool at the sign shop that I don't like as much as the Astro.

I got the China freight one. Only goes up to 1/4" but has worked well on the few things I've used it on.

All I know is I use the shit out of mine and I never would have realized all the uses I've come up with. Now I'm wondering how I did without. Actually, I do know, I used D&T screws way more than a fella should.

So, do you think the 3/8" inserts will hold moderate weight? I have a small 18"x18"x36" bed box that I keep tow straps, shackles, fluids, etc in. I'm thinking 75-100 lbs. Previously, I was using nuts & bolts but it's a PITA to get between the gas tank and floor.

They should be fine. If in doubt overbuild

I've seen those but figured it'd be pretty hard to crush the bigger inserts.
