NV3500 confusion

They fixed the cluster shaft to a better design when the NV3500 came out, but retained the same shifter and had the same issues with falling out of gear. When they updated to the internal slave model they changed the shifter assembly but still didn't quite get it right until 97 or 98 when they switched to the single piece rail design. They don't fall out of gear anymore.

I thought that all nv3500 had the single shift rail since they came out in 93? Maybe Im just misinterpreting what your saying?? I think I read somewhere that they switched to internal slave in 95 or 96

Will a manual from any year 4.3 Vortec bolt up to another? I have a HM 290 out of a K 1500 with a 4.3 Vortech in it. I figured, being that I pulled it from a 4.3 it would both upped my 4.3. Am I wrong?
