Hey guys, I may have a lead on an nv4500. The story, found a guy, with a vague ad, advertising a manual transmission from a 94 1 ton chevy. Of course the ad has no pics, no 2wd or 4wd designation. But he only wants 300 for it. Now if it is 2wd, what would it take to convert it to a 4wd transmission, what parts would I need, and the approx cost? Trying to figure out if thats a better deal than forkin out 1200 for a 4wd one.....

I contemplated doing this with one near me. You would have to change out the mainshaft for the shorter 2wd version and then change the tail housing out to the 4wd style with the round 6 bolt pattern.

well I just got a pic emailed to me, the guy is a retard, its a 465........*sigh* moving on.....

it would probably be cheaper/easier to go to a divorced t-case if you did end up with a 2wd nv4500. If its on anything other than a blazer, it would allow you to run 2 equal length driveshafts that way too.
