Hey Guys, I have searched and read 'til my fingers are numb and eyes bloodshot and I cannot find anything specifically about GM NV4500 2wd matched up to a NP205 6 bolt 32 spline input (long). I want to put this setup into my 86 Suburban 6.5l diesel (Turbo comes later)4WD currently automatic.
Do I just need a spacer to bolt these two together as you do with NV4500 4WD?
I have all the other components, bellhousing, hydraulic clutch setup including pedals.
Thanks guys.

Ok, sounds like I still need to get -

mainshaft
tailhousing
spacer
rear main bearing
bearing race

Is Advance Adapters the best place to obtain these parts?

Thanks a mil.

I already have the NV4500 2wd bought it for $650 so I think I am ahead of the game so far.
Thanks for the thought anyway.

Consider running an early Dodge divorced NP205, pass drop with dedicated crossmember(s) and stub driveshaft.

This...

Swapping a main shaft, it sounds so easy doesn't it?

That's the mainshaft with everything but 5th gear on it. All those gears and synchro's would need to come of and be re-installed on the new main shaft. No sense doing that and putting it together with used synchro's, or used bearings is there? Might as well do shift fork wear pads while you're there, upgrade the 5th gear nut, or maybe a full spline main shaft.

You're going to be into your $650 tranny for another grand easily...plus the time.

For me it was only marginally worth it, I got my 4WD NV4500 free as a basket case. Spent ~1100 on parts total. My counter shaft and input were fragged.

Well call it luck or whatever but I got a GM NP205 6 bolt 32 spline for $300 and so everything is just falling into place. Just need to buy the AA spacer.
The NV4500 has never been used so no need to for new gears etc..
I will take lots of pics once we start the install, which isn't for another couple of weeks.
Thanks for the advice and help.
