Does anyone know where I could get brass/bronze syncros for a nv4500?

Has anyone done this and did it work well?

thay say that the cheep replacements are all brass. and dont last as long as the carbon fiber coated units. dont forget the carbon fiber is stronger .

just a site for ya to try. but you have seen it already. good luck.;)

Fiber may be stronger - as long as you go broke buying oil. You can't get the oil in a one horse town in the middle of the night or even in a big city in the middle of the night. At that cost I don't want to pack an extra 6 quarts.

I just can't help thinking about the last 50 plus years of proven brass.

But then again it may not work - just asking

I forgot to add - I have two Carbon fiber syncros in the kitchen for 3rd gear. Brass with carbon fiber surface area on inside I.D. It may wear slower but I can change the brass out when needed.

Any idea where to get these cheap brass syncros?

I'm in the nood for experimenting. It won't hurt the trans, at most I'll have to pull it out again and change them back out.

Why would you want the brass ones? Also, you dont have to run the fancy oil. We put MTF in at work and we dont have problems. I think mine has ATF in it.
