Nv4500 cost

Truck came out of Wyoming and is beat to sht. but seems to run good . third gear grinds if you shift fast but fine if you drive normal.
It will sit till I find something to put the drive train in and I finish my other projects.

fyi my buddy picked up a 4500 out of a 1500 W/T 4.3 v6 truck 1 time . all original .

so even if you see a 1500 check it as the work truck could have got a 4500 in it .

That is a for damn sure. For some reason quite a few 1992 and 1993 1500 series trucks came with NV4500's even behind 4.3L and 5.0L engines. Not sure if NV4500 bridged the gap when GM changed suppliers of the LD 5 speed from Getrag to the NV3500 or what. Like you say, 1500's are always worth looking at for NV4500's as well. My buddy had a 1992 K1500 reg cab shortbed that he bought new equipped with a NV4500.

ya my buddy popped the cover on it and even the oil looked new . . she shifts like butter . . . must be the wimpy 4.3 saved it from a early death . . . .I did have him over fill it by 1/2 qrt to get the oil up to the input bearing a bit more. and make sure you use the correct oil or you will have a dead tranny real quick.
