NV4500 failure?

When I twisted the input shaft off, I ordered the shaft, bearings, and 4th gear cone and synchro from Quad4x4. The only shaft they sell is imported. I was leery about buying a shaft made over seas, but the guy on the other end of the phone said " we sell an awful lot of these, and I've only ever seen a couple of them fail."

I should have trusted my gut instinct.

I called Quad4x4 today and got the same guy on the line. I told him what happened and that the input and countershaft were both destroyed. He offered to either refund or replace the input shaft, and will discount the price on the countershaft

I removed the trans today and tore it down. Looks like the only parts I need will be the input and the countershaft.

I'm not sure if I should be impressed or disappointed with the damage
