gotta 01-02 nv4500 when i got it the input shaft was tight and every once in awhile when i would move it around the shop i would pick it up by the input shaft. well the other day i noticed it slightly wobbles let right and up and down. did i break something?

It shouldn't wobble. There is a good sized tapered roller bearing pressed onto the input gear which is right behind the input gear housing. (remove 4 bolts from front).

The other end of the input gear is a pilot that goes into the mainshaft. There is a small caged needle bearing at that point, plus a thin disc shaped straight roller bearing. If you did mess something up it'd probably be there because I can't imagine you hurting the big tapered roller bearing.

In the future use the input housing portion to pick it up, the closer to the housing the better.

The good news is the input gear portion is quick and easy to work on and the parts you may have damaged are cheap. You could have that input gear removed in approx 5 minutes using one wrench. I'd remove the top cover if I were you so you can ensure you understand the position of the little needle bearings and make sure it goes back together right. No big trick with the top cover either. Put the gear shift in neutral, unbolt and remove.

You'll just need to watch the shift forks align where they need to when putting the cover back on...
