nv4500 question

A guy I work with is giving me a nv4500 to get out of his garage. I think he said it needs a syncronizer between two of the gears replaced. The catch is that it is out of a two wheel drive. What would be my options for making it work in my blazer? I currently have a 4L60e, but would like a more reliable tranny. I was considering an sm-465 before this tranny came along.

You need to replace the mainshaft with a 4wd version and get the 4wd fifth gear housing. Advanced adapaters sells it but it aint cheap. If the Tranny is free I would still do the swap if it was me. PM Rene he knows a good deal about the NV4500.
