NV4500 Questions

What year did they start putting them in chevys? IS the stick shifter a small diamiter, non tapered?

Theres a local company that has A truck for sale but it dont say what year or much else about it. Said make offer does not run. Its in ROUGH shape, Im guessing its a 93-94 K2500(8lug) 6.5 and 5 speed. All I had time to do is look in the window. The knob has L-2-3-4-5 and the stick is small diamiter and not tapered (my 97 is tapered and gets about 2" at the bottom, it has a NV3500 in it).

Anyway I called and offered $500. The guy I talked to said he had to approve it though the company, but I was the first and only call on it in about 3 weeks. If I get it, Im hopeing the turbo and 5 speed is good and the 5 speed actualy is a NV4500. My crew cab would love that.

Being a 1 ton deisel it will be the 4500. GM started using them in 92....

i'm pretty sure the 5spd behind most of the diesels in the 90s where all 4500s

i'd love to have that 6.5 td and 5spd for a swap

Yea providing the 6.5 is any good. It does say it does NOT run, If the engine has a major mechanical problem Ill probably try to use the turbo for my 6.2, or rebuild one to use the turbo on. OR OR OR ........ The options are unlimited and I get confuzed.
