MY th400 case cracked
, and now I'm trying to decide to fix the case, ($400, only 25k since I had it rebuilt), find a Hyrdo set-up for my SM465/208, or i was also considering a NV4500.
The truck is an 84 k5, right now it has a 350, but its going to get my 383 in soon. 8" in the front and 6" in the rear on 37 Radial IROKS. I also have a guy that may trade my BFG a/ts for his mild 454
...so that may go in instead of the 383.
Which would be the best way to go, tranny wise? I would love to have a stick, but if I go with the 4500 it's WAAAY more money, but worth it would be worth it for overdrive/drive-ability.
I was just doing some research and I read the earlier (92-94?) trannys have the same bellhousing as the 465? If thats true, is there any reason I couldn't get a early 4500 and use a hydro set-up for a SM465?
Or did I read something wrong?
Thanks
