I have a 93 nv4500 I planned on throwing in my gas rig. Thinking hard on throwing it in the 6.2 now. Do I absolutely have to use a damper version or not...?

If so, can I install one or is it totally different?

As always, thanks in advance....

No need to have the dampened version. It's just there to remove NVH from the diesel engines.

My 6.2 is a diesel....Sorry if I wasn't clear

I ran an undampened NV4500 behind a 6.2l diesel once. It was about as loud as the engine was with diesel clatter, but it suffered no ill effect.
