I'm investing the $50 I just won into a new set of bodymounts and am debating whether or not to put a 1" bodylift on to ease the NV4500 swap i'm getting ready to do.

Those of you that have done this swap into a square, what's the verdict go for the 1" bodylift or not needed?

I like your truck the height it is but I'm pretty sure I'd do a 1" body lift cause it site does ease access to certain things

Yep, another vote to "Dooooo Eeeeeeet". :D I put a 1" on my Blazer and you really don't notice it, it helped a lot with bellhousing bolts and such.

Me too Eric, Thats why I'm vascilating over this one. The only height I wouldn't mind adding to this truck is bigger tires... But if it has enough benefit, I'll do it.

As far as to answer your question...no it's not "needed" for the NV4500 swap. I don't have a body lift on my CC, and everything fits just fine. My body mounts are in really good shape though. And also mine will be more of a tow duty type of rig, no real "wheeling" per say. I could see how a 1" body lift would be beneficial in cases...but once again, it's not "needed"

I did the NV4500 swap and lifting the body never even occurred to me. I do not think it would have been helpful, and it would have messed with the shifter placement a little bit. But I had the removable tranny tunnel, so I was not doing bell housing bolts from the bottom.

I think i'm going to go do the lift, I'll fab my own pucks, so I can make any size I want. I wonder if say a 1/2" spacer would get me most of the benefit of the body lift and minimize the added height to the truck?
