Nv4500

Well guys havent been on in a long time. I started working doing the 40 hour a week thing with 17 hour overtime and all the stuff any way my buddy just replaced his transmission in his 2000 Dodge duelly CTD. I was thinking about taking his old tranny and putting it in the K5 to replace the 700r4 he said he would sell me the NV4500 for $500 and then I would have to buy a rebuild kit. I didn't know what would be involved in this swap so I decided to ask the experts thanks guys.

is it from a 2 or 4 wheel drive?

if its a 2wd one youll need a shorter shaft to mate it to your t case or if your going to have it devorsed trany youll need a devorced t-case too.

if itsa 4 wheel you need the adapter for your t case.

It was a Four wheel drive so I am guessing I use the advanced adapter for the bellhousing, but will it mate to a 208.

The Dodge version is 29 spline, the GM version is 32 spline. So aside from the bellhousing issue, you'll need to run a divorced T-case, or swap the mainshaft. Not too cheap to rebuild either from the prices of parts that I've seen.

My employer got $1200 to rebuild the last NV4500 that came through, and all it needed was gaskets, seals, bearings, and one gear.

Yeah a bearing and synchro kit at cost was still a butt load of money. I dont remember exactly what modifications you need to do to the out put. Its 23 spline. Call AA. 800-350-2223
