nys rust help

so im changing the wheel cylinders on my 87 and of coarse all the bolts are rusted bad. one of the bolt heads stripped like no tomorrow, I started with a 3/8 then beat a 9mm on then beat 11/32 socket on and its just gonna strip away to china. so what are my options for getting this stupid bolt out. thanks

If it's the bolts that hold the wheel cylinders to the backing plates just grind them flush and throw them away.

the bolt doesent thread into the backing plate at all?

It only threads into the wheel cylinder.

Channel locks and heat.


If you heat up a rusty bolt red hot, they will come out 95% of the time.

backing plate is sandwiched between the wheel cyl and bolt head.

just grind / cut it off and get new .

Fastest way is air hammer with a flat chisel. About 3-5 seconds and each bolt head is gone.

Yup--that or a sharp cold chisel and a few hammer blows will shear the bolt off quickly --just be careful of the steel brake line..
