O.T.-S-10 transfer case...which side is the front output shaft

As the title says.
Is the 4x4 S-10 transfer case a driver's side or passenger side drop to the front axle?
And did they ever come attached to a TH350.
I ask as my brother in-law wants to swap in a SBC 350,TH350 into his 88 YJ(Jeep) and we're trying to figure out what transfer case we could use.

s10s are driverside drop. they were only behind 700r4, but can be easily adapted to a th350, the 1.75" spacer.

i just remembered, with the th350, you need the 2wd short tail (6" tailshaft) and cut 7/8" off the end (IIRC) then you can use the spacer to hook it to the tcase. it will be the same length as a 700r4 though.

you might want to think about a t case from a full size because a lot of times the transfer cases used in the s-10 can not handle a lot of torque

Trying to do this on a budget.A full size T/C will exit the passenger side,won't it.
