would local exhaust shops carry these? i am wanting to put headers on my tbi motor, im taking off the air pump after reading it doesnt do anything to the ecm..

anyways where exactly should I weld it in, i would assume near the collector. also where abouts would I get one of these to weld in.. I dont want to buy tbi headers just to plug all the air tubes, thats pointless.

or is it possible to find a nut that would thread onto the o2 sensor, and just tack that onto the headers, ill ask here tonight, but tommaro im going with my 02 in hand to find a nut to fit it, and a pair of headers

by the way my transmission tcase and exhaust is all off

i already picked up the complete stainless exhaust, but its set up for manifolds, which is hilarious.

It is an 18mmx1.5 thread and you might be able to get them at napa. I got mine from Jegs. Put it in the pipe right after the header anywhere from 10 O clock to 12 O clock so it doesn't get any moisture in it.

And down there you will need a heated o 2 sensor.

Welding a nut to the header works fine, and I really don't think you'd need a heated O2 sensor that close to the motor.

I have Summits headers which are Dynomax headers and I'm using a heated O 2 sensor. I didn't try the factory one cause i read on here that it won't get hot enough, better to be safe than sorry. Just my 2 cents.

Do some searching on here

okay so what o2 do I order then tommaro, for what vehicle, or a part number or something, this fuel injection stuff is fairly new to me,

I bought a Bosch #13077. The Ac Delco part number is AFS-74
You have to run 12 volts and a ground to it.

IMO if you are doing your own deal, you want a jam nut. Regular nuts don't get the sensor down into the exhaust stream. Found one at a local bolt supplier for like $2. Aftermarket bungs are pretty pricey (comparatively) as I recall.

You want the Delco sensor. No reason to replace the stock one if it's still working. Try it and see.

My general rule of thumb is to run a heated O2 sensor for long tubes, and a standard O2 sensor for shorty headers or headers that directly replace a manifold without having to modify your exhaust tubing.

Yup... and don't buy the dynomax collectors with the o2 bungs... I can weld better with my eyes closed then those bitches!!

The O2 sensor in my 91 is all the way back where the Ypipe comes together.

yeha, ill just stop by one in the next few days and grab one from them..

I was told my local part store lordco does carry jam nuts, but who knows if they have 18x1.5

thanks all, the headers are in and once i get the nut ill buzz it on there...

wow is the passenger side header ever close to the driveshaft, i did tweak it alittle bit by pushing it over but it looks like I have to install a lift now to clear the headers, oh darn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never had clearance issues with drive shafts, Shackle bolts on the other hand I have had to use ratchet straps to bring the header over a bit

Ha, one way or the other, header companies have a hard time getting the headers right down the middle. :)

well, ive had the truck on the road now for two months, the truck runs powerfully, but it does run rich when i stomp on it, i can smell gas, it runs great and throws no codes, however I have been running the factory O2 tommorrow I am picking up the ac delco heated sensor, hoping that will fix my proble,, should I install some catalytic converters on the dual 2.5 inch stainless

Rich when you stomp on it has nothing to do with O2, that sensor is ignored at other than mild throttle.

well since the new ac delco sensor it runs much better, smoother aceel, and no richness at throttle, loving my truck even more now! thanks
