O2 sensors and headers

Ok, I know this was on here somewhere search cant find it.

I have a 350 TBI that I am going to install a set of dynomax headers on. where should I mount my O2 sensor? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif TIA for the help.

I put mine in the collector right behind the header.

Thanks guys. WIll have to make the mod. this week. Did you guys get you weld bung from a parts store or did you find the right size nut? What is the size ....dia. and thread count?

I ordered mine from jegs when I got my headers.

Just get a spark plug non-fouler from the Help section and cut the end off. This is what my dad and brother did and it worked fine.

Has anyone had a problem with one side running too rich with a true dual setup? My brother has true duals with headers and the pass. side is running bad but the driver side, w/ O2 sensor, is fine.

Is it tuned port or tbi? Some tuned port systems used two o2 sensors. Not sure what it would be if its tbi.

The both engines that I have never had an issue with that. Both are/were run with true duals. Tbi engines with only one O2 sensor though.

My thinking is that it can't happen unless something is wrong with the injection system itself. ECM still "thinks" its seeing both sides of the engine, so it will richen or lean based on the side with the O2 sensor.

So what happens to one side happens to the other, barring electrical/mechanical problems.

Only issue I can think of is teh O2 sensor is looking for 8 cylinders instead of 4, and would see a lean condition all the time. But I assume, striving for that 14.7:1 mix, whether 4 cylinders or 400, if its 14.7:1, the O2 sensor will be happy.
