OBD codes

is there a link or thread that lists them...? I checked my truck but the link that I got the instructions of 'how' from didn't have my code listed I'm getting '12' flash-pause-flash,flash- LONG pause.... repeat that's correct right?

IIRC, 12 is normal...no codes. Its telling you that your ECU is not detecting any codes and that is operating normal within parameters.

12 is the initiation, all good, code.. it will always do that first... any code that follows that is a trouble code..

does it remember codes... as long as I haven't pulled the batt cable? Because before my burb went all wonky and started running all crazy and then not at all, the light came on for a few seconds.... then the SHTF. I've done nothing to it since. (except check the codes)

it should be giving you a code currently, if it was a code issue that caused your problem... keep in mind, OBD1 can be a bit "vague" in it's diagnostics...

yeah I watched it for a while and it gave me 12 like 4 times in a row before I shut the key back off and pulled the jumper.

the occasional dieing thing I've had going on for a while (since I fixed my broken ECM ground and got it running again) is ALWAYS preluded by a service engine light.... a lot of times I can catch it by gunning it quick when I see the light come on. but I gotta be REAL fast.
