Ever since I've had my '87 K5,..I've been totally obsessed with doing something with it. Whether if it's buying an accessory item or putting on a new or used part,..now all I do is look for idea's of how to improve the looks or the performance. And its running into $$$. The other family rides have totally taken a back seat. Has this happened to any of you?!!! It hasn't affected my marital status yet and my wife is,...somewhat supportive,...I am eventually going to get it painted and I know that will be a major improvement. I am looking for some feedback and possibly some advice.
 
Take it wheeling, hit a tree, rock, etc, then imagine that new paint job...all messed up. Don't know if you wheel or not but expected damage is what stops me from going overboard with cosmetics. Set a monthly spending limit. Works for me.
 
I had to set up a separate bank account for my k5. My wife puts alittle in it. I put alot in it that how i do it the rest is bills, savings, etc.
 
My wife calls it Suburban Syndrome. My 'burb is my daily ride/work truck, I intend to make it my office,right now it's a home away from homelessness for my wife and me :rolleyes: Life comes atcha FAST!! but I can only do 45mph for the moment :waytogo:

My long term goal is a mashup of industrial grade work beast,street/offroad ripper,rave on wheels and surveillance vehicle with a heavy scifi influence .....
 
HA! Uh, yea! I spend all but every waking moment thinking about trucks in one form or another! You think you got it bad? Try having those thoughts about your truck, but now imagine you have 4 trucks like i do!!! Each one "needing" at least as much time and money as the next! Its a blessing and a curse i tell ya! At least with trucks you dont have to worry about getting hooked on drugs. Dont have enough money for drugs after all the truk parts are bought!

Wife? Oh yea I remember her. She was a brunet as I recall, now getting back to my blazer....I just replaced the oil cooler lines now nothing leaks, no drips on the garage floor!! :pimp:
 
Haha,..wow I guess we're all addicted...well now I don't feel so bad. I feel encouraged...to go and just really fix'er up now. Laterz

EXACTLY!!! I feel the same way and I also want another truck! I really want a D-Max!! But then I would want to buy stuff for it too!!!
 
Damnit I still don't know how to upload my pics,...and I have a photobucket acct. too...I'll just have to have one of my kids show me how to do this...but I will get it figured out!!!
 
Well my situation is real simple as my Dad says. when you dont have any money its real easy to decide what to do with your truck and it involves a whole lotta nothing :haha:. I got enough ideas brewing around in my head to make a millionaire poor in a hurry but im learning to pick which ones i try to make a reality better.
 
Well I'll be,...how'd you do that y5mgisi? haha,.. I do have a brushguard on it now, ya never know when those unpredictable deer wana jump out in front of you last second...needing to find some original rally wheels,...for nostalgia.
