The 04 Impala I bought has more or less been handed off to my wife. Ive got a bad case of the wet passenger floor. To the point where is even leeches into the back foot well sometimes. Ive havent looked to far into it other than to say im 95% sure its not the heater core. The water on the floor is clean, no sweet smell, doesnt discolor the carpet, no slippery antifreeze feeling at all. Not to mention the heater core is dead in the center of the dash and the drivers side is bone dry.

It doesnt seem to coincide with rain but I could be mistaken. Any shots in the dark? Clogged door drain maybe?

try poring water in to the vents next to the windshield and see if it comes out threw the bottom or make the floor wet

Like mentioned sunroof drains. Also there is an hvac drain under the car that could be clogged. That is most common

Delt with the same issue on out Envoy over the summer. the AC drain tube was clogged and backed up and was leaking inside the front pass floor. Was able to take a heavy zip tie and feed it up in the drain tube (in the engine bay) to clear it out. Also there is a 1-way flapper valve I believe in there so if its stuck open with gunk it will cause to to back flow. On the envoy it has a removable 90deg tube that just pops off on the fire wall for ez cleaning.

On the Impalas there is a piece of rubber weatherstripping that falls off and let's the water from the windshield run right through the blower assembly and into the passenger floor board.

Remove the plastic cowl on the passenger side right in front of the windshield. You'll see the weatherstripping laying in the cowl. Use some weatherstripping adhesive to glue it to the pinch weld that it belongs on. And pick up a new cabin air filter to install at the same time, because the water ruined the one that's there now

Think somebody knew what they were talking about! :waytogo:

Finally got around to fixing this today, ironically in the rain lol.

Is the blue on the cabin filter a dead give away or what...
