The '72 has a weird reciever hitch setup, instead of the 2"x2" square tube ACROSS the bumper w/2" reciever, it has a 3 ft. +/- 2"x2" square tube going straight BACK to toward the diff.. I have never seen this setup and wondering if anyone else has. Does not look like it would have much sway strength, although I'm only planning on towing my camp trailer and alum. boat.

If you don't get a reply try putting this in the towing forum.

Mine has something similar heres a drivers side view , it has pulled my wifes old Sentra from Strawberry AZ ( up and down grades ) as well as hauled trash to the dump, and I have never had a problem. My truck has even been dropped on it by accident and it is strong. I call it my rear "rockslider" /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Looks very similar to mine, except mine hangs a little lower at the bumper and goes straight back, no bend.

Thanks, looking at it as a slider makes me feel better, don't know why.
