Odd request, was there ever a plastic model of K5s

I had decals made for a model of my buddy's late model race car. I found a all metal model on ebay for $35 and took a picture of his car to a graphics shop and had them duplicated. He thought it was the best gift that anyone had given him.

i got the 84 gmc

Crapy pics, but here are two kits I bought awhile ago. There was a resin caster making hood and caps for the Mad Mudder. He was killed and a bad car wreck.

I just bought the 72 Blazer and a set of the 49" Iroks for it. Dont know for sure how I am going to rig up the lift, but also bought a set of the 38" Swampers the guy has as well for another model later. Hopefully I can take my time on this model and make it look good. Normally I start of doing that and then get in a hurry and get sloppy.

Grimjaw, where did you find that old Monogram model?

Where else, Ebay. I did a lot of reading on model trucks a while back. Basicaly none of the model companies made pickup trucks/Blazers/ Suburbans in the 80s. Even today there are very few kits of 90s models.

I have seen a few old school hobby shops that carry a large selection of older models. I dont remember seeing any Blazers but it has been a long time since I have seen a good shop. If I would have thought about putting jimmy model in the ebay search engine instead of blazer model I would have found one a while ago. :doah:

Ahh well, I am bidding on one now and will probably be involved in a bid war with someone from here. If it gets too crazy I will just buy the 84 pickup and make it a Blazer. Got to fabricate a lift to fit the 49s anyway.

Guess I'll have to bring this up again.
This is the tamiya Blazing Blazer. You can't buy this any more but you can find this on ebay. For Mucho bucko. Leaf sprung, 3 speed transmission locking hubs. sand tires.

I'm jealous. Been wanting one of them for a while now. Going to buy one of the new Tamiya F350s when they come out and slap a Clodbuster body on it.

Here are a couple I found on the net.

I am litterally building both of those, at the same time, into one truck. :D
Unfortunately they are 1/24th and 1/25th scale so not everything goes perfect. I did a front-end swap on the Mad Mudder with the 84 K10 so it has the newer front end like my 90 (which is my "model" and what I'm going for). I had to widen the hood to make that fit. I cut out the doors and have one opening, and closing (using a watch pin for a striker bolt) so far and the other one almost fitted. I cut off the roof and have most of the roll cage done. I am also using the rockers off of the K10 because they look more realistic. The tail gate is done/fitted and opens. The I made some articulating knuckles for my front axle, and the cross over is done. No working steering box yet. Unfortunatly, I dropped my frame. It had a bunch of smoothing/fitting etc and working springs and shackles, and all that basically destroyed it's self. :doah:
I need to find some putty to finish the body work. I'm planning on using the engine out of a 90 K10 I bought because it's TBI with a NV4500 on the back of it. But again it's 1/24 so it looks tiny in the engine compartment. I also remolded the floor of the Mad Mudder so it would be like a 81+ floor not an 80 down. The 6" rise in the mad mudder is in the middle of the door anyways.
