I sold my K20 Suburban 2 months ago so I’m trying to stay relevant. A guy at work has been rebuilding a 4-53 detroit and is trying to put a tremec 6060 6-speed behind it. Has anyone adapted an sae-3 to one of these transmissions?

thats a combo  :saweet: :burnout:

i would think he just needs a sae 3 to gm v8 adapter plate and parts . but these can be a bit hard to find . there is prob only 10th the amount of info on med / heavy duty on the internet easy to find compared to 1ton down . i was searching loooooooong and hard for info on my med duty gmc7000 dump truck .

might try posting over here . there is some good old guys that know stuff on here . http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/forumdisplay.php?f=239

The 6060 has an odd bellhousing so I hope he can figure it out. We talked about CAD’ing an adapter plate up then figuring how to extend the pilot bearing.

prob be the fastest way to do it .

i know they use press in spacers for the convertor hub center on ls swaps with older trans combos . so maybe he can do the same ?
