ok so the th350 i swapped into my k5 has a big problem with the dipstick and tv cable not fitting, the parts are for that transmission but the holes in the case are two small. with the dipstick no seals will fit and ive got the oring style dipstick. so is the gromet style dipstick tube smaller? and are there any TH350 cases that were made with different seals?
any help is apreciated, im beating my head against the wall trying to get the tranny to stop leaking.
thanks, cody.

There are two different types of dipstick tubes used. One is a large diameter tube (maybe 5/8") and uses an O-ring on the tube, the other is a large diameter tube that necks down in size (maybe 7/16") where it goes into the trans and uses a grommet in the trans case then the tube pushes into this grommet.

hmmm mabee i need to go to the pick and pull and fine another tube. so possibly the o ring style isnt supposed to go into my transmission?

Yep, sounds like you have a later trans that uses the grommet style dipstick tube.

I can't remember if there was a difference with the kickdown cable though and you said it is different also?

junk yard or they are only about 9 bucks a piece at o rielys. i had to change both of mine out because i ended up with a later model trans than the orig. just watch how rough you get with the kickdown, mine broke from trying to force it into place...
