Looking for a nice OEM engine oil cooler for an 85+ GM truck. Small block & big block are the same and what I'm looking for. Attached are pics of what I'm after, except I would like one that is in much better shape and doesn't leak! Thanks

I think I have one but I’m out of town until this coming weekend. I’ll check what I have and post up this weekend if you haven’t marked this post “found”.

I have never seen one quite like that. I should have one from an 89 Suburban though in good shape. I know I have one sitting on the top of my oil drain barrel so I will go grab a pic.

Same, I don't remember seeing anything like this.

To me, the cooler pictured looks like one from a 73-80 body style. The one I have (that looks like the one pictured) came from a Blazer w/ 400 engine, I think it was a ‘78. Fwiw, I should have the entire set up except for new filter adapter gaskets.

My 74 with a 454 had a different looking one

I have had a few like this but rust belt life they dont like to live after removed . Or sacrifice the lines but have fun getting out of cooler ends still a gamble .

I think OP has posted a pic of the OEM transmission cooler on the later trucks. pretty sure that's what the one on my 90 burb looks like.

As stated, it's an engine oil cooler. I've got 35 years in as a GM Parts Manager and I have owned at least 50 K30's and at least double that amount of 81+ squares. Every 84+ K30 that I have owned that had a factory engine oil cooler had this cooler. I actually took the one in the pics off of an 88 V30 crew cab. It's just thrashed beyond repair. Almost every 84+ up until 1990 that have an engine oil cooler should have the one pictured. The drawing I posted before is right off of my GM electronic parts catalog.

my 1990 V1500 oil cooler looks like post #8. I remember it well, because I had to replace a leaking one a couple years ago. I just went out and peaked at my transmission cooler. while it appears to mount similarly on the top, it is different than post #1.

Maybe the 3/4 and 1 ton stuff is different than the 1/2 stuff for the oil cooler.
