Alright...I made an ass out of me,by assuming. There was a foor of snow on the ground when i quick glanced at the original starter, and the chilton guide was wrong no 4th wire at the starter. Just the main B(+) cable the purple wire to the S terminal and an orange that goes on the same terminal as the B(+). 10 minute swap . It sounds way better and starts super fast
...Another thing to add is when installing this thing a different heat sheild for the solenoid should be employed. I found a solenoid heat sheild lying around the shop from a GenIII V8, notched it a hair and voila. I absolutely recommend this to anyone in need of a new starter. Chevy 305 sorry no pic from me but believe me when i tell you the new one weighs less than half of the old one
