Off Road Lights???????(pic)

Grim, I've had the Hella's on a K5. The headlights are mounted up so high that I really had to aim the Hellas down so as to not blind oncoming traffic. The sharp cutoff made it hard to see very far ahead on low beam. High beam was a different story. WOW!

Both of mine got cracked. It seems that the lead crystal lenses are more fragile than the glass used in regular headlights.

The '94 'burb takes the 9004 style light bulbs. It's been upgraded with the 80 watt low and 100 watt high beam bulbs.

You know that's a good point on the lights that I had not thought of. I have had those lights since 86 or so and they have never been in a 4x4. Been in a GTI, Rx7, Nissan Lowrider truck and now my Supra but nothing tall. Maybe thats why they never got DOT approved. Now Hella does sell a new set that is DOT approved and maybe that has been addressed. Mine are the "for off road use only, Not legal for on road use" versions.
