1/2 ton status
I bought this a couple of years ago around Austin and made the drive down to the coast no issues. I did have the TBI unit rebuilt and had a new fuel pump installed. I used it two years as a beach rig but probably only have 6-8 real overnight trips on it. Was always rinsed down well so it has plenty of life left in it.
Specs are as follows
454 TBI motor
4l80e transmission
Np241 manual transfer case
Gm 14 bolt rear end.
Odometer shows 259509 currently.
40 gallon fuel tank.
Not sure if the gears are 3.73 or 4.10
New CD player.
Aftermarket Front receiver hitch
Factory rear receiver hitch.
Power windows and doors.
I am not sure if the motor is all original, same goes for the transmission. But it runs and drives great.
Downsides:
-Some rust on the rear quarter panels.
- roof had some minor surface rust, I sanded down a bit and rattle canned it just to help give it a little more life until I could figure a better fix. (evident in the pictures, it's not the greatest job but it worked)
- A/C needs a tuneup. Not sure if it’s a recharge needed or what
- paint on hood is worn spotty but no rust areas.
- motor main seal does seep oil but hardly ever actually have to add any oil to it. Doesn’t burn any oil to my knowledge.
- no third seats included. (Missing when I bought it)
For the ck5 brother hood I will cut the chit chat.
$2000 and I will pull the aluminum beach rack and the front basket and you can have it.
This is a great platform and it is still a solid truck. I wish I could keep it but at this point in life a hobby has to take the back seat and I still have my k30 as my project truck.
