Now that 305 mentioned it, whats up wit that front axle? I'm always wondering about building a extra heavy duty front axle, from a Spicer-Eaton rear axle out of a ole Pete tractor, HMMM...

My guess... full float 14 bolt modded with dana 60/70 knuckles and a reverse direction third member.

Couple pics of my 86 -- All of the pics were taken on a run we took to the mountains in September. I totally destroyed the 700r4 (split the housing wide open) on that trip, and finally got the 5 speed to install in it just this evening.

Excuse the flex shot on the RTI ramp -- I was only able to get one of my sway bar bolts out before that run to the local off-road park, so my flex was fairly hindered :haha:

Too bad that wasn't a video, cause about two seconds after taking that picture one of my fuel tanks split open and spilt diesel all over the place. There was much mayhem trying to get stuff under it to catch the spilling fuel :doah:

BTW -- Specs on the truck for those who want to know:

It was an 86 K10 with a 6.2L diesel / 700r4 / NP208 with 3.08 open 10 bolt front, and open 12 bolt rear. Lifted 4" with springs front and rear and rolls on 35" boggers. Since destroying the 700r4 I've replaced the stock C code intake on the engine with a J code I had kicking around, and replaced the CRD canister, swapped the diffs with a locked 4.10 3/4 ton 10 bolt up front front and locked 14 bolt out back. I'm installing an NV3500 from an 06 Chev with an NP241 t-case behind it this weekend. Should have it rollin' pretty quick! Still rocking the 35" boggers.
