Well, losing my father a couple of weeks ago had me thinking about all the fun we had on the trails together and this motivated me to do some Blazer Bash planning.

The official dates for 2014 are September 5th - 7th. With a couple of western CO organized runs for Thursday the 4th.

Here's the schedule of events:

2014 EVENT SCHEDULE
Thursday, Sept 4th

Friday, Sept 5th
Saturday, Sept 6th
Sunday, Sept 7th

The new run for Blazer Bash is Saturday's Rose Garden Hill & Top of the World run. I describe it "in it together" because the idea is that 2 groups of rigs can start the run together and then part ways depending on how difficult you want to run.

We have run Top of the World for Blazer Bash back in 2007. The overlook at the end is very dramatic. You may have seen some poser pictures from this trail circulating the Internet. Like this one:

Rose Garden Hill is a new one. It has a very challenging hill climb towards the end.

The entire trip ventures into the region of Moab less frequently visited. It is north of Moab off Hwy128.

Here's a Google Earth view of the trail. It starts on the blue trail that is called Onion Creek, then takes a turn onto the Rose Garden Hill trail shown in cyan. Further along there is a fork, one to finish Rose Garden Hill on the difficult hill climb and the other fork is for the easier Top of the World spur.

Looks great. Hopefully we can make it this year. The wife will be looking forward to another PP run!

Since these Google Earth images are so cool, here are more:

I can't tell you how exciting this is! I've wanted to go to blazer bash for as long as I can remember.

Thank you for organizing this!

Looking forward to seeing you all out there!

Dudes that drive get unwelcome stickers on their trucks proclaiming something embarrassing.

I might have a lady friend coming, but I don't think she will drive it. She has bad enough time driving her own car.

This sticker might be worth it depending on how it looks.

It does make a big difference when it's all ladies driving, and the only real pressure is to have fun! We had a blast on the last one and I think most everyone tried something they where nervous about.

hmm, my wife is willing to drive it until it "gets scary."
