Official Countdown thread

Yeah, I like the looks of them and I've heard good things, but I'm afraid they will be a bit pricey. Especially since I'd like a 38"-40" size.

Well while you 2 are waiting for this or that I'm quietly continuing getting my truck ready.

Scott did you notice the feller, whats his name, something to do with horses is going to run with us on Saturday. I want you to be on your best behavior you hear! :) :)

You mean the guy that thinks he's a STALLION? He probably didn't realize Metal Masher isn't a store in the mall. :rotfl:

"Pony Boy?"

My wife can attest to my Stallion status :)

I thought Metal Masher was a stock friendly trail?

I just put a new sticker on my rig, it let's everyone know that I am hardcore!

Is this it?

Who needs a trash talking thread? :p:

Do they call that widow maker? Or am I thinking of something else?

Here's a picture of a obstical on "Metal Masher",
If you guys can climb this without a winch, I'll buy you a beer :D

Two beers if you make it in a stock truck.
Sorry, no beers for truggies.... well, maybe  .

I might be old, slow and dumb but pick the gauntlet back up Dave. I wouldn't try that for a lifetime supply of Sam Adams Light and all of the Jack from miniwallys private stock!:D:crazy::D

That is Widowmaker. And just trying to get to it might put a twist in yer' panties already - the trail goes up the side of a hill, and is rather washed out..

Man, if only they made that into an air freshener I would be all over it:D

I'm sure we can arrange something for you pony boy:p:

Well, thumper is ready for a shake down run next Saturday in Bangs Canyon. We will see if any good has come from all of the money I spent trying to get him to the point I feel he is safe to drive on the trails or the highway.

Well if Thumper isn't safe on the highway, you're to be in the back with the DEATH TRAIN!

Shakedown run last weekend in Payson went well. New motor and tranny mounts and new exhaust are good things to have, and the leak at the left rear hub appears to be fixed. The carb/ignition could use a lookover, but since it runs good at angles and I'm out of time, I'll leave it alone. Next thing to do is music downloads so I can play themes from the Spaghetti Westerns all day long at the 'Bash...:D

And I'm a little bit too tired to bring the Blazer Bash thread in the Garage back to the front. Seems there's little interest in general, and since we're getting close to the cutoff I don't see the point anymore...

I still got a few more things to finish and get some stuff together.
we hit the road in 21 days!!

I was thinking about miniwally's suggestion to tune your carb. You could also advance your timing which would help a lot. I run my at 15* BTDC and I could probably push it more if I wanted. I live at the same elevation as Moab.

Just FYI, your results may vary: On my truck (350, stock cam), timing is at 10*, the Q-Jet has a piece of hose on the vent to prevent fuel spillage, and the float is set a hair low to prevent spillage/stalling on steep climbs. Drawback is that it likes to die on steep descents....

I have been told 10-12° for good mileage/performance compromise on a stock motor around here. So that jives with what you're running, which is still higher than factory recommendations.

I run mine higher yet because of the motor and I often end up at 9000ft+ wheelin around Colorado.
