Okay this year I am trying to make the Lodging and Camping organized.

Due to issues in past years I will not be making reservations for anyone but myself and family members.

The SLICKROCK campground is the OFFICIAL campground for the BB 06'

The MOTEL 6 will be the OFFICIAL hotel for BB 06'

I will contact both of them and let them know we are making a good amount of reservations at each place and see about discounts.

Please make sure to get reservations early as the fall is a busy time of the year in Moab and the hotels tend to be kinda booked.

If you decide not to come please make sure to let the lodging area of your choice know ahead of time.
We have been asked by hotels before to pay for someone who didn't show.

Maybe Steve can make this sticky

Thanks Brandon :D I will update the blazerbash.com site over to the 06 bash soon and list those two places as the places to be.

Okay heres the deal for Motel 6

Phone # 1-435-259-6686
Make your reservation and make sure to tell them you are with Blazer Bash. This gets us a 10% discount. I told them we would fill 10 to 15 rooms so that is what everything is based on.
They don't do great deals so don't count on more discount if we fill more rooms. If we don't fill 10 rooms they put us in a diferent rate catagory and the proce will go up.
They claim good availability right now so get your rooms.

Rates for three adults per room are:
$67.45 Thursday night
$72.85 Friday and Saturday night
$67.45 Sunday and Monday night if you are staying those nights.

Rates will change with how many people you have in a room.

Okay Slickrock Guys here is your deal

Make your reservation and make sure to tell them you are with Blazer bash.

If they get enough of you there you will get a discount. I don't know what # is enough though.

They are trying to put everybody in the Paradox row.
Make sure when you tell them how long your rig is you include truck and trailer but tell them that. They thought Rob had a 50' fifth wheel trailer.:haha:

Make them reservations early and get your spot.

I just heard from someone that has camped there before - is this camground all dirt (no grass)? We are bring our 2 year old and hope it is kid friendly. When my contatc was there the pool was also not open. Anyone have comments on the qulaity of this park?

Not trying to start a mess, I need to know what the real deal is..... ;)

It is a nice area. There is limited grass as the whole place is kinda a moterhome park.

I thought they had a playground area.

It is under new ownership so I know that there are a few changes happening.

I wouldn't have any problems with a 2 year old there. They will just be dirty just like they like it.

I had the broken pull through last year ( water only ) at a discount . So I set my tent up in the grass next to my spot . Marv set his up in the same grass next to his spot ( we were neighbors with common grass ) . And they made us move off the grass .

In 2002 from what I can remember it is mostly dirt trees and pavement:
This is a pic of the main street that takes you into the campground..we camped just to the right of our truck in this pic

Oh and the pool & hottubs were working great when we stayed there in 2002

My Bud is trying to get me to stay here: http://riversideoasis.com

I want to hang with the group as long as the campground is not too much of a mess...... I am really not worried about it - spend all the time in the Blaze. :D

No matter where you camp in Moab, there is not much grass, and they are not going to let you camp on the grass. It's high desert.

I have camped at Slickrock from the begining and it's about as good as it gets in Moab, and they are Wheeler friendly.

Rob

Until you start running an impact at midnight and arguing with German tourists...then they're not quite as wheeler friendly. :p:

Dave, it's a decent campground...and from a parents POV it'll be just fine. One thing I recall is excellent washrooms and showers and a fair amount of grass and shade.
