Oh boy, she\'s a stinkin\' Fumes in cab problem...

I am getting sick breathing these fumes in. This is my stock K5 350 tbi 190,000 miles. It used to only happen when going over 2500 rpms on the expressway, now the dang thing stinks all around town. I can't travel with the windows down or else I can get dizzy. I know the engine burns a lot of oil, but shouldn't it come out the exhaust? I can avoid the smell by leaving the windows up and putting the AC on, but I like to have the windows down sometimes. I checked for exhaust leaks, none to be found. is there anything I'm not seeing here? Please help if you can!

Thanks, Jeremy

It stinks while it's warm. The fumes smell like half burnt oil. Can the head gaskets leak out the side?, I think I spotted some type of gass leaking out while raising the rpms while looking at the back of the head (driver side).

thanx for help.

half burnt oil? now thats a new smell to me..is it running hot? does the oil look milky? or the coolant? its possible that the headgaskets are starting to go south on ya..

funniest thing, I get what seems to be an exhaust leak from the engine compartment, yet when looking closer, the smoke is sputtering out from inbetween the head and the block (where the head gasket is) when you rev it up and look in that area. Any clue of how this is happening? I've never seen such a thing where the head gasket will leak out gases from the combustion chamber but not puke oil. Thanx
