Currently I don't have crap because I have a steering wheel and screw the passengers. Eventually there will be a cage which will have built-in tube handles. For now I'm not putting any holes in my immaculate roof. Because around here that's kind of a rarity.

I've heard of people using those thread-sert things to add a couple bolt holes to add a bolt on handle from some other vehicle, not sure what but a fun little excursion to the junkyard might turn up something of your liking.

Ive got that kit. It does about as well as any other HF stuff. Works a few times, then breaks.

That being said, these little aluminum threaded pop rivets arent' anywhere near strong enough for a grab handle.

If i have my headliner down again, i'm going to weld in some nut plates to the roof structure, like hte factory one on the passenger side.

Steel ones with a good tool would probably work.

I'd venture to guess that a tool cheaper than the inserts will break though.

I've broken so many cheap rivet tools on aluminum rivets, i'd step up and get a good tool to go with steel inserts.
