OH man np203

Depending how high your truck is and how big/strong you are, I climb under the truck and then roll the tcase on to my chest, bench press it into place, and try like hell to get the input/output shafts to mate and then rotate while a buddy installs a couple of bolts. Last 203 we did we used a skid loader with forks on it and it took forever. They are a PITA!

How about a chain through the floor?

I have also used a 2x4 frame around the base of the transfer case to keep if from wobbling around on the jack.

Not really a good way of going at it I guess.

The first five times I did it on my chest and bench pressing it in, the 6th time I was getting old and tired and i was able to balance it on the jack while my brother was jacking it up so it ended up being a 2 man job, but it was almost effortless.

Remove passenger seat, remove tranny tunnel. Use engine hoist to raise 203.

Thats how I did it by myself once.

just get creative with the jack, and try tie downs to keep it on there.

Easiest way would be to call a buddy over to help. 2 people makes it wayyyyy easier

brute strength, hade a friend that just got in the way but after he left i did the whole roll it on to your chest and push it up in there. it can be pretty skethchy at times

Assemble it on the truck, as two separate halves, and leave the internals out as long as you can.

That's how I've done it alone with no jack, laying in the snow. Get a tub of Assemblee Goo from NAPA for those needle bearings so you're not trying to fight them while you're putting the case in.

Thanks guys. I,m going to start fresh this morning.I,m also going to look for some other kind of TC. Wonder if I could use a 208 off a 700r thx again guys.

You will need to change the tranny or at least the shaft on your th350 to mate to a 208.
I do have the right adapter for that th350/208 combo if you ever decide to go that route.
The output you have now is too short to work with a 208.

I have used multiple people and muliple floor jacks. After that it was still a hell of a pita!!!. That dam thing is the reason i bought a tranny jack. much larger foot and you can tie stuff down to it. With a t-case that large and heavie. As with most things chevy when things arent working you just need a bigger tool(ie BIGGER HAMMER)

Yesterday I just RnR'd my t-case to reseal the case halves. When it was time to put it back in, I layed next to the t-case under the truck, spooning with it ever so romantically. I wrapped my arms around her with a nice big hug and rolled onto my back pulling her on top of me. With a nice big push I was able to slide it right in.

Wait, what were we talkin about?
