NOT that it was a good deal but the price it was at!! I was like are they crazy sure it has 23,000 miles but no fracking way. The highest I saw sell on eBay till this was $7,500.00 and it was higher mileage.

MMMM means insurance company has to pay me more if mines stolen since I have declared value on mine.

Versus buying a new truck, that K5 is a steal! I think GM could make a killing if they would go back to making trucks of that vintage. Of course they can't because of mileage and safety reasons, but I really think something around $20K new (fullsize) would out sell everything else, even if it didn't have every option under the sky like more modern trucks have.

mileage reports...Yours very well could have had 88k miles on it, who know how hard they were...

The crank snapped in half at the front main and splewed oil everywhere on my 96 tahoe at 90,000 miles. It could happen.

although this thing is not necessarily in 88k kind of shape had some good body damage that I fixed and the guy had alreay gone through 1 tcase and tranny... yeah it was a 700r but if you saw my rig when I bought it, I you might change your mind. But it could happen, the thing does have absolutly no rust on it.

Is there a sure way to tell the mileage?

Carfax can be very helpful in determing mileage sometimes.

I seriously doubt the 23,000 mile bit. 89 was still mechanical speedo so it is easy to detach...what's to stop the original owner to keep the speedo unfunctional for many of the first years he had it to keep it 'in warranty'? 23,000 miles in just under 17 years is just over 1300 miles per year. Who buys a vehicle brand new and then never drives it? Yeah it's clean...but I do not buy the mileage numbers at all.

It got 20 bids on it tops was $14,000.00 with reserve not meet!

So boys and girls print it save it and show your insurance agent when they say your truck is not worth anything. I have been and still am recording these and printing them just for that day.

no kidding! my wheeler is beat up with 83k (original miles). I bought it completely stock for $4500 perfect interior which is now gone as well as the body lol.
