I personally use pennzoil synthetic in everything I own, and have owned in the past. We sponser pennzoil at our quick lube, and seeing the oils that go in and out and seeing what types of oil affect what. Quaker state is owned by pennzoil and has in the past had parafin in their oils. Pennzoil has since taken that out of quaker state and penzoil has never had parafin in their oil. Shell now owns both. They use a pure base which is clear, and has excellent thermal breakdown princinpals compared to most conventional oils. There was one vehicle in the past, a man bought a 94 chevy 1500 with a 350 brand new. He had a route that he drove all day everyday. He changed his oil every 3000 miles, had every single receipt of his oil changes and always used pennzoil. He drove it 1,000,000 miles and pennzoil found out. They bought him a brand new truck ( after checking all the receipts). They tore the engine down that was in the truck and they said the honeing marks were still in the block from when it was originally machined. There was an article in NOLN (National oil and lube news) about this topic.
I will always run pennzoil and nothing else, but if I were to run something different it would be valvoline. That is my opinion
